Power Director 13, when I download transitions they are not appearing in PD13, I have set them to auto open but nothing is appearing in the editor. John

Hello John1956,
This issue was being experienced by some users here - http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/40520 It was found that by closing & re-opening PDR13 the downloaded transitions appeared in the library.
Have you installed the 2123 patch? It apparently fixed the issue, though I've never had problems myself.
Here, downloaded effects appear instantly whether by 'Save' or 'Open with'.

Thanks, Tried all of the above, still nothing, I am using window 8 just in case you wondered. I have tried adding the transition in every way possible still nothing, yet any other stuff from director zone add no probs just the transitions. John

As the problem had been posted before, I assumed it might be the same thing.
Could you please check in C:UsersPublicCyberLinkDownloaded Transitions to see what's there. That's where the transitions from DZ are stored, each in separate subfolders.

Thanks, I checked and there is no folder for downloaded transitions, everything else but that. I'll create one see it that helps.

I've just found something related, though it probably won't help you.
That 'Downloaded Transitions' folder is not even generated until you make your first transition (successful) download/installation from DirectorZone. Obviously, that's what you've been attempting to do.
It seems like you're following the correct procedure. Have you been downloading from within PDR13 or directly from DZ?

So, during the download/install process there's been no error message or alert? It appears to be installing but just fails to show up?
John, could you please try this stab-in-the-dark procedure?
Download the attached zip file, which contains the Downloaded Transitions folder and a single transition I downloaded earlier. Unzip it and place the folder inside C:UsersPublicCyberLink
Questions: Does the 'TR170-14' transition appear in your transitions library under 'Downloaded'? If so, what happens when you try to install another downloaded transition?
It's looking like this problem is beyond my limited problem solving - a corrupt installation???

i have reinstalled it so the corrupt installation isn't in it. Your dowload file is there and works, but still wont install new transitions, lol, I'm stumped, thanks for your patience and help, John John

Ok, a bit long winded but if I really like a transition, then I download it, make a folder for in C:UsersPublicCyberLinkDownloaded Transitions and unzip into it and when i use PD13 the next time then it is available, lol, that will have to do meantime, thanks for you help, take care, John John

i have the same problem. Powerdirector 13 year subscription and i cant download even one transition. every other stuff on directorzone installs fine. its like directorzone program is not acknowledging i have PD13 when it comes to transitions. Ive noticed every other download has the little gift box icon to open with director zone menu but the transitions icon is like a pictureless icon. it downloads but i never get the confirmation that it was installed like i do with every other downloads that's not a transition. very frustrating as there are so many transitions i want to download. wish i could post a photo here of the icon. i even sent explanation to tech help and photos and no response from them. guess they don't know either. I did what pix suggested and his transition showed up and i now have a transition folder but still cant download any transitions. will try Johns last suggestion

tried Johns suggestion about downloading but dont see how i could download as a zip guess im doomed and locked out of downloading transitions. one of the main reasons i upgraded from 12 to 13 dont know if ill be renewing since i cant get what i really want. REALLY STINKS!!!

Thank you, John, for the unzipping suggestion. I was able to drag the dztr file into 7-Zip and it unpacked it. I then made a new folder in C:UsersPublicCyberLinkDownloaded Transitions named Transition010 (that's what was next) and moved the unpacked files in there. When I opened PowerDirector 14, the transition was installed. Yay!
